On Thursday, January 12, 2006, rock legends and early LA Punk Rockers, THE BLASTERS are coming to the Rhythm Room.
The Blasters first started playing in the late 70?s, hammering out burning rhythm and blues and roots-influenced rock and roll in biker bars in their hometown of Downey, California. It wasn?t long before word about the band?s searing live sets spread to LA, and the band carved out a name for itself in the city?s burgeoning club scene. Along with X and Los Lobos, The Blasters became a Los Angeles icon. They came to be known for their blend of punk, blues and rockabilly and coined the term roots rock.
