142 Throckmorton Ave
Mill Valley, California 94941

The Beth Custer Ensemble returns to 142 Throckmorton to perform an evening of Custer's wide ranging, funky songs and instrumentals. Long hailed as a Bay Area gem ("Second Chair to No One" East Bay Express,) Custer will be singing and playing clarinets with her long standing, incredibly tight and intuitive septet. Beth Custer Ensemble is Jan Jackson on drums (Will Bernard, Chuck Berry), David James, guitar (Sila Afrofunk Experience, Spearhead) Lisa Mezzacappa, bass (Bait & Switch, Duo B), Graham Connah, piano (Ted Brinkley), Chris Grady, trumpet (Club Foot Orchestra, Tom Waits), Diana Mangano, vocals (Jefferson Starship) and Custer on vocals/clarinets (Trance Mission, Club Foot Orchestra, Eighty Mile Beach, Clarinet Thing.)

Pieces from Custer's recently release CD, Roam, will be performed as well as works from past projects including her internationally acclaimed “My Grandmother” (silent film score which she won the Aaron Copland Recording Fund award to produce it), her “Dona Luz 30 Besos” CD, “Vinculum Symphony,” and more recently her indie radio hit “Empire of the United States” from her “Respect as a Religion” CD (hailed by WNYU radio in it's Top 200 Listener's Poll).
