Gioachino Rossini returns to the Festival that bears his name. The Barber of Seville, based on the play by Beaumarchais, depicts the escapades of Seville’s favorite barber (baritone Andrew Garland), who arranges for Count Almaviva (tenor Christopher Pfund) to marry the beautiful Rosina (soprano Jane Redding).

The famous “Figaro…Figaro…Figaro” has inspired countless interpreters, from Bugs Bunny to Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire. It is performed in Italian with English projections above the stage.
