Telemann: Water Music
As endearing as the famous counterpart by Handel, Telemann’s Water Musicportrays the ebb and flow of the tides on Hamburg’s Elbe River, the sea-goddess Thetis, a lovesick Neptune, a playful Triton, and the gentle Zephyr breezes. Paired with selections from Tafelmusik (“Table Music”), perhaps Telemann’s most famous work, and a grand sinfonia by Bach in celebration of his 333th Birthday, this performance will be a delight for concertgoers.
