The Avett Brothers’ music has roots in traditional folk and bluegrass, but also captures the high spirits and no boundaries attitude of rock and roll. The Avett Brothers formed in 2001 in Charlotte, North Carolina when banjoist Scott Avett and guitarist Seth Avett joined forces with standup bass player Bob Crawford. The brothers were raised in the textile town of Concord, just outside of Charlotte.

In 2007, The Avett Brothers won the AMA Duo/Group of the Year and New/Emerging Artist of the Year awards. Over the years, the Avett Brothers built up a sizable following based on their rowdy, infectious stage shows. In concert, the high-flying ensemble tears through tunes with unbridled energy, popping banjo and guitar strings right and left while inciting stomping sing-alongs among audiences that know every word. The Avett Brothers are a grassroots phenomenon, built from the ground up.
