Harvard Professor Harvey C. Mansfield is among the most noted political theorists of our time. Mansfield has written brilliantly for the past half-century on such themes as constitutionalism, executive power, party government, and indirect rule. He is the author, editor, or translator of 14 different books, including the authoritative English translations of Machiavelli's Prince and Tocqueville's Democracy in America (with his wife, the late Delba Winthrop). A new compendium of essays in Mansfield's honor, The Arts of Rule: Essays in Honor of Harvey C. Mansfield, contains the contributions of 19 of his former students.

Joining us to discuss this new volume will be some of Mansfield's most notable students: Sharon Krause, Professor, Political Science, Brown University; Mark Blitz, Fletcher Jones Professor of Political Philosophy, Claremont McKenna College; William Kristol, Editor, The Weekly Standard; and Mary Ann McGrail, U.S. Department of Justice. Walter Berns, Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, will moderate. Hudson Institute CEO Ken Weinstein will introduce the event.

A light reception will precede the panel discussion at 5:00 p.m. The panel discussion will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. Copies of the books will be available for purchase.
