Calling all young ladies and gentlemen! Although it may seem that today’s fast-paced lifestyle leaves little time for the acts of courtesy that characterized civilized behavior in the Victorian era, having good manners never goes out of style. Boys and girls ages 8-11 will develop and practice modern manners for everyday situations during Maymont’s “If You Please: The Art of Good Manners,” a workshop offered on Thursday, August 11 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Children will learn how to make introductions, be a considerate guest, use good table manners and more. The workshop includes games, exercises, a luncheon and graduation, where their polished manners will shine!

The program will be held at Maymont’s Garden Hall, located at Maymont’s Hampton Street entrance at 1700 Hampton Street. Free parking is available. The fee is $45 per child/$40 for Maymont members. Registration is required by August 10. Register online or call 804-358-7166, ext. 329.
