Bethesda Fountain, Central Park
New York, New York 10001

The New York premiere of LADIES & GENTS written by Irish playwright Paul Walker and directed by Karl Shiels, opens with the backdrop of the public toilets near Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.

The play first opened in Dublin, Ireland, then won the prestigeous Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh International Theatre Festival in 2003, then went on to tour the UK to critical acclaim. This thrilling site specific show is being presented by Georganne Heller and The Irish Arts Center in association with Semper Fi Ireland.

The play takes place in the repressed Dublin of 1957, a chilling tale of mystery and revenge set in the public toilets proving anywhere can be a stage for significant compelling theatre. Maybe not a place where you might want to spend an evening, but this play has won many awards all over Europe and draws large crowds all over the place.
Expect fumbling in alleyways, secret rendezvous, and perverse pleasures and a peek at the underbelly of a nation.....
