The Absent Lover is a modern interpretation of a classic 5th century Sanskrit play by famous Indian dramatist, Kalidasa.

A story of love and loss, nymph Urvashi runs away in a fit of jealous rage from King Pururavas who desperately seeks her. Encountered by the magic of nature he is driven from realistic to fantastical ‘mind-trips’ until he finds his true love.

This performance is presented in association with sampad South Asian Arts.
