THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF “THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW,” 1961 – 1966, 120 min. Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” the beloved '60s sitcom about the hilarious misadventures of ottoman-tripping TV show writer Rob Petrie (Van Dyke); his Capri-wearing wife, Laura (Mary Tyler Moore); their adorable son, Ritchie (Larry Mathews); Rob's co-workers, "human joke machine" Buddy and husband-hunting Sally (Morey Amsterdam and Rose Marie); his balding boss Mel (Richard Deacon); the show's egocentric namesake, Alan Brady (real-life show creator Carl Reiner); and Rob and Laura's New Rochelle neighbors Jerry and Millie (Jerry Paris and Anne Morgan Guilbert). Watch again (or for the first time!) three classic episodes that highlight the wacky yet all-American brilliance of the show: "The Life and Love of Joe Coogan," in which Rob has a golf-course run-in with an ex-flame of Laura's; "Very Old Shoes, Very Old Rice," in which Rob and Laura must renew their wedding vows because Laura lied about her age on their original marriage license application; and "Coast-to-Coast Big Mouth," in which Laura accidentally lets it slip on national TV that Alan Brady wears a toupee. Plus, a clip from “October Eve.” Discussion following with Dick Van Dyke and Carl Reiner, moderated by Garry Marshall. Vince Waldron will sign his book The Official Dick Van Dyke Show Book: The Definitive History of Television's Most Enduring Comedy at 6:15 PM in the Egyptian lobby. Suggested ticket donations: General Admission $16.00, Student/Senior $13.00, and $12.00 Members.
