Celebrate the revolutionary and aesthetically timeless period of design spanning 1890-1990 at the 18th Annual Modernism Show, November 3 – 4 at the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Avenue, in Winnetka, Illinois. At the start of the twentieth century, Chicago was identified as the quintessential modern city, and is known as a noted birthplace of the Modernism movement; making it the perfect location to find exquisite examples of classic Georg Jensen silver, Deco-era pottery, vintage clothing and accessories, and so much more, all of which are featured at the 2007 Show.

The Modernism Show in Winnetka is proud to be among the first and finest of its kind in the nation, with over 50 outstanding and knowledgeable dealers from across North America and Europe will presenting and offering their first-rate collections; they will also be available to answer showgoers questions personally to help them discover Modernism for themselves. Many of these dealers exhibit nowhere else in the Midwest.

Modernism encompasses art movements that began in the 19th century when artists, architects and designers were seeking a way to shed the stuffy, lavishly decorated style of the Victorian era. Clean lines, simple style, and sleek materials are among the hallmarks of Modernism. Well-known modernist slogans include, “Less is more,” “Form follows function,” and so on.

Styles include:
• Arts and Crafts
• Art Deco
• Art Moderne
• Art Nouveau
• Mid-Century/ Atomic Age
• Post-War Modernism
• Prairie School
• Retro
