The 17th Annual South Carolina Oyster Festival November 18, 2012

Columbia’s largest outdoor oyster roast with over 10,000 pounds of fresh oysters served steamed and fried. Live bands play all day on the grounds of two Historic Columbia mansions, including Tokyo Joe, Black Iron Gathering, Reggie Sullivan Band, Rival Brothers and Tom Hall & the Plowboys, with a 1 p.m. Celebrity Oyster Shucking Contest. Partial proceeds benefit Pawmetto Lifeline. Oysters by the serving, a variety of other foods and beverages such as beer, wine and soft drinks will be sold. www.scoyster.com
