For the past 24 years, Texian Market Days has given visitors a glimpse into the Texas past by showcasing daily life from the early 1830s through the 1940s.
This year’s celebration will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, and will include Civil War camps and re-enactments, an antique tractor show and pull, a Texian Marketplace featuring local arts and crafts, cattle working demonstrations, chuckwagon cooking and live music.

Children's activities include corn grinding, one-room schooling, historic games, making corn husk dolls and making calling cards. The "Texian Time Machine," a hands-on program designed especially for children, will include stations such as frontier survival, hunting and protection, militia drills, home remedies and Native American life. Children's author Margaret McManis will also be reading her book, "The Wild West Stampede!" at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Advance tickets are on sale through Thursday, Oct. 23, and cost $8 for adults and $4 for children ages five through 15. Children ages four and under are free. On the day of the event, tickets will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages five through 15.
