Recycle & Compost @ Texas vs. Texas Tech Football Game
11/5/11

Texas Football has a reputation for winning on the field now we want to promote winning off the field by reducing waste at UT home games. The Longhorn Recycle Roundup is a nationally recognized program that collects and recycles plastic cups and aluminum cans at UT Austin home football games. Last year they collected and recycled a new record -- 24,740 pounds of plastic and aluminum – making this one of the largest recycling efforts ever undertaken by a university stadium of this size. This year the program is expanding to compost at Texas football home games.

Join us to kick start composting at home games, help us educate the public about composting, and monitor the compost station. 12 volunteers are needed to join the game day Recycling Team and make sure recycling and compost are properly disposed of. Recycling and composting volunteers get free entry into the stadium, bottled water to stay hydrated, and a KAB t-shirt. So come on out, cheer the horns on from the air-conditioned food court, and catch the play by play on tv monitors, while making a huge positive environmental impact!
