Exciting East-Bay Guitarist!

“Word is spreading quickly about this sensational, up and coming Alameda guitarist. Brewer has garnered much acclaim while working the local circuit and he didn’t disappoint – This cat can play! Brewer was one of the true delights of this year’s San Jose Jazz Festival” - Jim Harrington, Oakland Tribune

Bay Area guitarist Terrence Brewer has been called "a jazz tour de force" by the Marin Independent. With a style grounded in classic, straight-ahead jazz, Brewer's playing is marked by a clear, exquisite tone and fascinating yet accessible soloing and composing. He has the experience and talent to make it all work.

Brewer's return engagement at Pearl's promises to be special, indeed, as he'll be joined by fire-breathing saxophonist Dave Ellis. Rising-star organist Wil Blades, and drummer Micah McClain make up the rest of Brewer's powerful ensemble.

Reviewing Terrence Brewer's new release, The Calling, Ryan White of the Alameda Sun said, "Brewer is clearly a talented musician, able to compose and play with equal grace. His music is capable of invoking the heritage of classical jazz even while stamping it with his own modern imprint. This newest release proves he’s on solid ground, and well worth keeping tabs on as his sound continues to evolve . . ."

It's no mystery how Brewer found himself on "solid groud." He's honed his talents studying with jazz masters like guitarist Charlie Hunter and pianist Mark Levine. As his active career has unfolded over the past five year, Brewer has found himself on stage the a wide range of stars, including Pete Escavido, Bruce Forman and Tuck & Patti, and leading his own groups in high-profile jazz venues throughout the Bay Area.

Come enjoy the talents of this exciting rising star as he performs with an ensemble of top-flight, cutting-edge musicians. Read more.
