The Foundry Theatre presents 'Telephone.' Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas A. Watson presented their invention to the public, vaudeville-style, in theatres around the world. Ariana Reines' new play brings them back to the stage in this meditation on invention, love and the disembodied voice. 'Telephone' operates like a switchboard connecting Watson and Bell, a succession of cell phone calls between people who love each other, and Ms. Saint, Jung's casebook schizophrenic. This is a tender and ferociously poetic work that asks what it means to "take the call" not knowing who or what might be on the other end.
