Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.TEDWomen presents an exciting opportunity for the TEDx community to participate in a global TED conference centered around women. TEDWomen will celebrate women and girls around the world by convening a worldwide, global event.What is TEDWomen?On December 7 and 8, 2010, in an unprecedented partnership, TED and The Paley Center for Media will produce the first-ever TEDWomen: a gathering of global thought leaders and innovators in Washington, DC, connecting to thousands of online participants and self-organized events around the world.The cross-disciplinary, cross-generational program will focus on how women think and work, communicate and collaborate, learn and lead. The program will explore what this means and why it matters to all of us.
TEDWomen will reveal: Who are the women leading change?
What ideas are they championing? And how will they shape the future?
TEDWomen will also reveal women and men in concert with one another, orchestrating different but complementary approaches to ideas worth spreading.
