Teaching My Avatar New Tricks July 20, 2010

Steven Dow will frame the event with an overview of human/avatar interactions, followed by brief live demonstrations in-VLE scenarios on each of three platforms (Cooper – SecondLife; Steigman – OLIVE, & Dev – CliniSpace) They will describe the objectives for use, and compare and contrast the affordances of each. After an orienting discussion about bionic interfaces available from BioControl, participants will place recording sensors on little-finger-tips, and log-into CliniSpace to experience online clinical resuscitation, even defibrillation and CPR of a virtual patient who is having severe, life-threatening bleeding following a traumatic injury.
