Teach Yourself Guitar/Guitar Circle November 11, 2009

Have you ever wanted to learn to play the guitar but didn't want the high cost of private lessons? Didn't want to commit to the time schedule of weekly lessons? Felt you might be able to learn on your own, if you only knew someone who could help you get started?

Now you have the opportunity for free! Sponsored by the Blue Sky Collective, this class will be given for free every Wednesday from 6-8p. The class is being taught by guitarist Steve Wells, who has been playing guitar for over 30 years. The purpose of this class is to give you the fundamentals and resources to teach yourself how to play the guitar.

Here are some things you'll learn about:
1) How to tune a guitar
2) How to buy an inexpensive, but decent quality guitar
3) Simple beginner songs
4) Bad habits to avoid while learning guitar
5) Great internet resources for the beginner

Bring your guitar, if you have one. If you don't, you can still learn a lot about guitar playing and how to buy the right guitar for you.

Class is from 6-7p, with a guitar circle following at 7p. Guitar circle is a get-together of experienced and inexperienced alike to play music, jam and talk shop. Come join us!
