Target Family Days - Wild about Wildlife July 17, 2011

Target Family Days, generously sponsored by Target, will transform Courthouse Square, into a walkable assortment of themed family entertainment this summer. Featuring Live Music, Street Performers, Cooking Demonstrations, Themed Face Painting, Hands-on Art Projects, Food, Bounce Houses and More, there will be something for everyone on three Sundays from July through September. Plus, the street will be closed to through traffic, making a stroll along Broadway a fun and relaxing family experience.

Target Family Days Featured Entertainment

Dr. Noize
Sirius XM Kids Place Live chart-topping artist Doctor Noize gives a super high-octane interactive show encouraging kids to explore their creativity. Kidz and their pet adultz leave thinking everybuddy has some creative genius and that they can play an instrument, sing, dance, and even write and record their own songs. During the show... The Doc performs from his catalog of popular family songs. He plays a bunch of instruments and arranges and records songz live on the spot with crowd participation and wowza cool technology. Kids add their own vocals to the mix. As Bottomus would say: It's groovy, baby!

Native Bird Connections
The birds and people of Native Bird Connections join to offer experiences that go beyond the ordinary, striving to immerse the audience in an intimate view of a wild bird's behavior, life choices and needs. Regardless of age, participants find themselves connecting with living beings through empathy and awe, emerging inspired. Native Bird Connections is privileged to share its educational endeavors with wild birds as their partners. Their birds are the victims of permanent physical or psychological damage rendering them unable to survive in the wild.

Broadway by the Bay performs "The Music Man"
The summer heats up with everyone's favorite con man Harold Hill and the beloved musical The Music Man! Cast members from Broadway By The Bay's production of The Music Man (playing July 14-31 at the Fox Theatre) will be performing a few hummable, family friendly tunes at 12:15pm.

Along with Target Family Days, other exciting FREE evening events include: Movies on the Square on Thursdays, Music on the Square on Fridays, Dancing on the Square on Tuesdays, and Jazz on Main on Mondays. Other ongoing events in the coming months include seven special outdoor exhibits featuring Art on the Square, as well as weekend Classical Concerts.
