Families Celebrate Joy of Reading at the Target Children’s Book Festival
Books Come to Life at Festival on Saturday, September 13
Children of all ages and their families will gather at Three Rivers Park District’s Hyland Lake Park Reserve for the Target Children’s Book Festival presented by the Star Tribune. The event, which is free to the public, will feature book readings and signings, live entertainment and musical performances – all to help foster children’s love for reading as a fun and recreational activity.
Authors including Rick Kupchella, Nancy Carlson and Melodee Strong will make their books come alive for children, families and the young at heart, from the larger-than-life Target "Big Red Chair," a symbol of the company's commitment to supporting early childhood reading. In addition, families are invited to enjoy live musical performances by popular children'sartist including Lisa Loeb, They Might Be Giants and Justin Roberts & the Not Ready for Naptime Players. A special appearance also will be made by the voices of Nick Jr.’s The Wonder Pets! – Sofie Zamchick, Teala Dunn and Danica Lee.
