TarFest 2009 continues, September 26, with the TarFest Film Festival featuring a series of shorts and music videos, each running no longer than five minutes, created by local filmmakers. The film festival, free to the public, will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the theatre of the Korean Cultural Center located at 5505 Wilshire Blvd.

What is TarFest?

TarFest is the premiere arts and culture event in Los Angeles being held on the Miracle Mile District, produced by the Miracle Mile Players, September 25th – 27th, 2009. This three day multi-venue event brings together some of the nation’s finest emerging artists, performers and filmmakers, to display their talents for over 5,000 Angelenos of all ages. TarFest is a celebration of creative expression and mutual understanding within the community. The festival begins Friday, September 25, 2009 with an art exhibition opening at 6:00 p.m. at the Korean Cultural Center. Saturday, September 26, 2009 marks the TarFest Film Festival from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Korean Cultural Center, with the TarFest Music Festival following the same day at 7:00 p.m. at the El Rey Theatre. The final day of the event features the annual Miracle Mile Grand Prix consisting of a 5K and 1 mile run. A portion of the proceeds from the entire event will be used to support local youth arts, athletic and leadership programs. Visit www.tarfest.com for information.
