Soulful, sassy and melodic are how audience members depict the voice of local artist Tarea Anderson. Born in Washington, D.C and raised in the metropolitan area, Tarea attended Bowie State University where she performed as a vocalist in the university's Jazz Ensemble. She also sang first and second soprano in the Bowie State University Choir. Vocal greats Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Betty Carter, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Rachelle Ferrell are major influences on the artist.
