Soul music has a new name, at least in Philadelphia, but theres something different about this latest recording artist. Not only does she look nothing like a Jill Scott or Jaguar Wright (shes more likely to be wearing pink knee-his and braided ponytails than your more standard organic neo-soul fashion), but taragirl also has something of a new sound to her big, sassy voice which is refreshing to the ear, yet clearly inspired by the soul greats of the past.

Singer/guitarist/songwriter Carmen Chiles smoothly blends elements from rock, jazz and back to soul creating a sound so unique it demands a genre of its own. When her music falls on virgin ears, it instantly launches one into a realm where such a strong and welcoming passion is rarely experienced in today's music.
