Direct from the Australian steel town of Newcastle, comes a sexy, industrial strength, heavy metal version of tap dance which is known as Tap Dogs. Dancing on a high tech construction site set filled with I-beams and power tools, the Tap Dogs put on a relentless, high decibel, sweaty, sexy show which Time Out magazine calls “the hottest show on legs.” An immediate hit when they premiered at the 1995 Sydney Theatre Festival, and causing a sensation at the Edinburgh Festival a year later, Tap Dogs has become a world wide sensation performing to standing room only crowds. When Tap Dogs deputed in America, a USA Today cover story headlined “Tap Dogs unleash genre” describing them as looking “untamed enough to bark.” They clomped away from New York with an Obie Award and a Drama Desk Award nomination for “Best Choreography.”
