Tampa Roller Derby May 5th May 5, 2012

Tampa Roller Derby, previously known as The Tampa Bay Derby Darlins, Tampa Bay’s premier all-female flat track roller derby league, will be hosting a double header home bout, May 5th, 2012 at the USA Skateplex. Starting the evening, Tampa's home team, The Black Widows, will take on the Gainesville Roller Rebels from Gainesville, Florida. Next up, it’s a home team battle as the reigning champions, The Cigar City Mafia, face off against The Switchblade Sisters. April 10th: Tampa Roller Derby (previously known as the Tampa Bay Derby Darlins) will continue their 2012 home team bouting season by hosting a double header May 5th, 2012 in Tampa, Florida at the USA Skateplex. First up, Tampa’s home team, The Black Widows, take on the Gainesville Roller Rebels from Gainesville, Florida. Immediately following, it’s a home team battle as The Cigar City Mafia, Tampa’s reigning champions, play The Switchblade Sisters. This will be the third of six bouts throughout the season to determine which two of the three home teams will make it to the Championship Game. Doors open at 6:00 PM. The first bout begins at 6:30 PM, and the second bout will begin at 8:00PM. Seating is available, but feel free to bring your own folding chairs for close-up, trackside seating. Children 7 and under are free. Tickets are available the day of, at the door of the Skateplex for $15. The night’s activities will also include halftime entertainment, raffle prizes, and a skater autograph zone after the bouts. Coincidentally, May 5th is also International Roller Derby Day. Come celebrate this day by watching some roller derby with us!
