Tameside MBC Armed Forces Day Celebrations June 27, 2009

Tameside will celebrate the heroes of our armed forces on Saturday 27th June 2009 from 1pm - 4pm in Victoria Park, Denton. The day hopes to raise awareness of past and continuing contributions made by all those who serve or have served in Her Majesty`s Armed Forces. A small parade led by The Adamson Military Band will depart at 1pm from Denton Town Hall and will make its way through Victoria Park to the flagpole where Councillor Ged Cooney will officially open the celebrations. Following the opening ceremony, a short service will be held at the park`s War Memorial. During the afternoon there will be performances from The Adamson Military Band and a War time tribute singer. There will be a huge temporary dance floor erected in the park where people can enjoy the performances and have the opportunity to join in with swing jive dancing.
