Born in 1958, Kenya Hara is a Graphic Designer, Representative of Nippon Design Center, Inc. and Professor, Musashino Art University. Concentrating on identification and communication, Kenya Hara has made his expertise the design not of “things that are,” but of “things that happen.”

With his planning and production of the exhibition “RE-DESIGN: Daily Products of the 21st Century” he presented the wondrous design resources to be found in the context of ordinary daily life. In 2001, Hara was enlisted as an advisory board member for MUJI, and since then has art-directed planning and advertising to espouse MUJI’s new vision.Signed copies of ‘Designing Design’ by Kenya Hara, published by Lars Muller in April 2007 will be on sale after the lecture.
