The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library and U.S. Trust present Talk of the Stacks, a reading series at the Minneapolis Central Library exploring contemporary literature and culture. Readings are held at the Minneapolis Central Library, Pohlad Hall, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis.

On September 24, The Talk of the Stacks will feature Seth Kantner. Kanter is an award-winning writer, photographer, trapper, fisherman, mechanic and igloo-builder who lives in Kotzebue, Alaska. His best-selling first novel, Ordinary Wolves, won the Milkweed National Prize for Fiction and the Pacific Northwest Bookseller’s Association Award. His newest work, Shopping for Porcupines, provides a vivid look at America’s last frontier through a series of moving essays and vivid photographs.

The Talk of the Stacks is free with open seating to the public. Programs begin at 7:00pm; doors open at 6:15pm. Book sale and signing follow presentations. Visit www.friendsofmpl.org
