The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library and U.S. Trust present Talk of the Stacks, a reading series at the Minneapolis Central Library exploring contemporary literature and culture. Readings are held at the Minneapolis Central Library, Pohlad Hall, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis.

On October 30, the Talk of the Stacks will feature Andrei Codrescu. Romanian-born poet, novelist, screenwriter, and commentator on National Public Radio, Codrescu is internationally known for his satiric wit and biting political perspective. His newest collection of poetry, Jealous Witness, honors the dispossessed, artists, lovers, and cultural icons who have influenced his life. Published by Coffee House Press, Jealous Witness includes a CD by the New Orleans Klezmer AllStars and some spoken word performances by the poet.

The Talk of the Stacks is free with open seating to the public. Programs begin at 7:00pm; doors open at 6:15pm. Book sale and signing follow presentations. Visit www.friendsofmpl.org for more information.
