In a long awaited sequel to their ARIA Award winning CD and show Perfect Strangers, Judi and Suzanne return to the cabaret platform with a whole new show at Riverside Theatres on Sunday 15 July at 3pm and the Sydney Opera House from 17 July as part of a national tour.

The combined talents of these two exceptional performers, with their diverse musical backgrounds, have thrilled and delighted Australian and New York audiences and critics alike. Take Two! is the next stage, and an opportunity to hear these leading ladies of the Australian stage stretch their limits with thrilling results.

Hear some of the greatest songs from the greatest composers and lyricists of the twentieth century, presented with the unmistakable and charismatic Connelli/Johnston touch. The choices are endless – from Johnny Mercer (Too Marvellous for Words, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), Marc Blitzstein (The Cradle Will Rock), to Harold Arlen (The Wizard of Oz, Let’s Fall in Love) and Stephen Sondheim (A Little Night Music, West Side Story) and many others.

“In Take Two! we’re exploring a whole new musical connection. We’ve listened to each other and we’ve stretched the material that we present,” said Judi Connelli.

Judi Connelli’s remarkable career spans opera, operette, theatre, musicals, television, cabaret and recording. This year she reprised her role as Mrs Lovett in Sweeny Todd for Opera Australia. Other memorable roles include Into the Woods, The Threepenny Opera, Chicago and Sunset Boulevard. Her cabaret performances sold out in New York and London and won her many prestigious awards.
Suzanne Johnston is one of Opera Australia’s most popular artists most recently appearing in The Pirates of Penzance. Her talent has taken her to the Salzburg Festival, Glyndebourne Festival
Opera in Trevor Nunn’s Cosi Fan Tutte, The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as well as recitals in London, Paris, Milan, New York and Los Angeles.

“It’s edgy stuff, and we’re thrilled with the result – it’s right out of our comfort zone and we think it’s just wonderful – come on the ride with us.” – Suzanne Johnston.
