Making Creative Ideas a Reality

Creative Cultures and the Cultural Enterprise Office have joined forces to bring an evening of inspirational talks about working in partnership, collaborative projects and making creative ideas a reality.

What to Expect
From speakers who've been involved in initiating and supporting projects, you will hear of the pitfalls, successes and everything in-between that goes into making creative projects happen. The topics will include establishing the funding and relationships to get started and keep going, as well as considering the legacy of projects.

Edinburgh based multimedia creatives “FOUND”, Ziggy Campbell & Tommy Perman will each give an insight into their individual and collaborative creative practices. The ability to mix music with visual art and working in partnership with curators, galleries and other individuals have shaped the FOUND collectives creative output. In their own words:
“[we are] Producing and releasing records, remixing other artists, staging ambitious multi-media events and putting on art exhibitions.”

Aberdeen’s very own Sarah Tingle (Project Slogan) will talk about how she followed the idea to create a vibrant and relevant collective of contemporary artists for Aberdeen, creating possibilities for new graduates and “non traditional” practitioners in the North East to showcase experimental work. Sarah also manages two galleries and studio space, as well as being a prolific musician and visual artist.

Joe Murphy is the Innovation Counsellor with ICASS for the Aberdeenshire area, and helps people explore the feasibility of their innovative ideas. Joe will talk about the service he can offer through ICASS alongside his own experiences as a product designer, arts festival chair and facilitator.
