Sobers & Godley | bellé contemporary dance company

Sobers & Godley will premiere two new self-choreographed works "Influence" and "52 Card Pick-Up." Additionally the duet will perform one repertory piece, "Still Frame", choreographed by Sidra Bell. This work is an eccentric and architectural display of independency within the frame of a new relationship, the score composed by Dennis Bell. "Influence" performed to a haunting electronic track by Alva Noto, is an exploration of how two individual's worlds collide and affect each other in a way that forces compromise, vulnerability, and acceptance. In "52 Card Pick-Up" the duet explores dance, theater and comedy in this high-energy yet playful piece about playing games and pushing buttons. The contrasting sounds of Black Violin's Fanfare coupled with The Knights Garmoshka displays the pair's versatility and diversity in style.

bellé contemporary dance company will present UNTIED which is a triptych of solo works created by Cari Cunningham for (Eve Allen, Cari Cunningham, and Angela Ritchie) that deeply explore the concept of marriage through different historical lenses. Trannon Mosher will join the company for a duet set to an original musical composition by Ty Williams/My Flag Is On Fire that negotiates the complex dynamics of a relationship through pure movement.
