Stringdance + Media/Christy Walsh::

Jasmina Wellinghoff of the San Antonio Express-News calls Walsh’s choreography:

"...imaginative, edgy and sprinkled with unusual effects and configurations" and the content of her dances as "realized in a novel way".

Seven Golden Birds share a secret, the keeping of which brings death. This fast-moving tale of sex, secrets, murder and vengeance is set to the music of J Pasquale Greco and combines the efforts of choreographer Christy Walsh and Danish painter Michael Chang. Dancers Ryan Lawrence and Laura Sifuentez join Walsh on the stage, where Michael Chang’s abstract expressionist artworks become part of the set, props, and integrate into the fabric of the costumes. Each dancer plays several characters; each character dons a unique costume and has a separate sensibility, but they share a common purpose. Truly multi-media dance-theater, the hour-long and action-packed narrative unfolds through Walsh’s ballet/flamenco/martial-arts – influenced choreography, dialogue, and video created by Chang and Walsh. The confluence describes the colorful but dangerous world of an elaborate modern mythology.
