Support First Nations Rights.
Oppose the Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline.
Demand Accountability from Bank of Montreal.
Rally to support the Yinka Dene delegation to the Bank of Montreal Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
WHY ENBRIDGE:

It's Gateway Pipeline proposal would move up to 525,000 barrels of oil a day from the tar sands in northern Alberta to tanker port in Kitimat, BC. The project would cross unceded territories claimed by over 20 First Nations. It would also cross 785 watercourses, fragment wildlife habitat and impact fragile salmon fisheries. More than 60 First Nations have declared opposition to the proposal.
----------------------------------------------------------
WHY BMO:

Since 2007, Bank of Montreal has raised more than $286 million for Enbridge. Funds raised by BMO can be used to move the proposed Enbridge Gateway Pipeline forward. Unlike other banks, BMO has not adopted meaningful human rights policies including the right of First Nations to Free, Prior, Informed Consent to development impacting their traditional territories. Delegates of the Yinka Dene Alliance will confront Bank executives inside the meeting while we rally in support outside.
Support affected communities! Support the First Nations delegates! Support the growing movement to protect our environment!
