Takami & MoBu Dance Group premiere ILLUSION 2 January 26, 2008

Step into a veritable wonderland where luminous glass sculpture, sound, and movement are synthesized into a powerful theatrical experience.

In order to enhance the intimacy of the experience, audiences will be kept small. Their journey will begin in the Bay Gallery surrounded by artworks curated by Robert and Tomoko Jarrell. This is the setting for the first dance installation. Once led through SomArts theater, audiences will be greeted with a surprising landscape. Each element, glass sculpture, sound, and movement signifies a different relationship between the dancers, the glass, and the audience.

"Illusion 2" was created by Takami (choreographer), glass artist Kana Tanaka, and sound designer Jorge Bachmann.

Performance dates are: Jan. 25 - 27 and Feb. 1 - 3, Fridays and Saturdays @ 8pm; Sundays @ 7pm.
