One of the highlights of UMS’s Chamber Arts series over the past decade is the near-annual visit by the Takács Quartet, whose dazzling performances never cease to amaze. The ensemble returns with two Beethoven quartets bookending a brief new work that the Takács commissioned and premiered last year by the New Zealand composer John Psathas, who has worked closely with a variety of musicians ranging from percussionist Evelyn Glennie to tenor saxophone player Michael Brecker.

Program
