Tags & Treasures Sale at the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum March 26, 27 and 28 March 26, 2010

Antique dealers, antique aficionados and bargain hunters will find rare treasures, collectibles and historic estate items during the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum’s Tags & Treasures Sale March 26-28 in Old Wethersfield.
Organized by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA), the bi-annual sale will feature hundreds of household items, including antique and vintage pieces, from some of Connecticut’s oldest families.
The event begins with a wine and cheese preview party Friday March 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the museum’s Webb Barn.
The sale continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, with a bag sale beginning at 2 p.m. During the bag sale, shoppers may fill a shopping bag provided by the museum with sale items for only $3.
Among the treasures to be found at the sale are antique comb-back and sack-back chairs, a period Chippendale chest, glass, silver, china, linens and books – all donated by the Colonial Dames, who maintain the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum.
The Connecticut Chapter will use the money raised from this event, the museum’s largest fundraiser, to continue operation of the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum and development of its educational programs.

COST: $25 per person for Friday night’s wine and cheese preview party; $5 per person for Saturday and Sunday; $4 for museum members, Greater Hartford Arts Council Let’s Go Members and those who bring in a copy of the sale’s print advertisement; $3 per bag for Sunday’s 2 to 3 p.m. bag sale
