The Pete Hanna Center will be the site for the nation's premier high school basketball tournament on December 29-30 when the T-Mobile Invitational National High School Basketball Tournament comes to the Samford University campus for the first time. Now in its fourth year, and the only high school basketball tournament sponsored by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), the T-Mobile Invitational brings together eight of the best boys and girls teams in the country for two days of jam-packed basketball action.

With the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) serving as the tournament host, this year's event will feature two teams from Alabama: the Hoover High School girls and the Butler High School boys. Additional teams on the boys side include Houston (Texas) Yates High School, Covington (Washington) Kentwood High School, and Winter Park (Florida) High School. Rounding out the girls field will be Stockton (California) St. Mary's High School, Nashville (Tennessee) Hillsboro High School and Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) Mt. Lebanon High School. Among the nation's best programs, these eight schools combined last year to win five state championships, record a state runner-up finish and a state semifinalist result.
