SXSW Music 2006: By day, the music industry's most accomplished and creative personalities collaborated, argued, and shared their experiences in dozens of panels, workshops, interviews, and meetings. Over 1200 acts showcased last year before more than 8000 registrants from all over the world. Pop, jazz, country, blues, reggae, hip hop, electronica - every imaginable style of music, from nearly every continent - is represented each night at over 50 of Austin's premier stages, many within walking distance of one another.

Once the final schedule is announced, are there any plans to post the specific showcases in Upcoming? I'd be happy to help. I'm not sure what computer-readable formats the SXSW schedule will be available in this year -- if there's something mashup-able with Upcoming and/or Google Maps, that would be terrific.
While I'm on the subject: my employer, Shadows.com, is running an experiment in encouraging tagging around SXSW. We looked in Flickr and other sources to find what we believe are the most common tags in use for all the SXSW bands.
