Swiss Wines at the Swiss Ambassador’s Residence February 4, 2010

Join GiraMondo for this truly unique opportunity and experience! We will host an intimate gathering and wine tasting at the Swiss Ambassador’s Residence highlighting the best Swiss wines and foods. We will taste Swiss varietals including Chasselas, Petite Arvine, and Malvoisie, as well as international varietals (merlot, pinot noir). We will learn about the Swiss appellation system and labeling.

The location will be as interesting as the wines as the architecture of the Ambassador’s Residence is quite unique and the entire building is eco friendly with an energy saving design and materials.

Wines will be paired with traditional Swiss foods such as Fondue / Raclette, Cured Meats, Roesti, Polenta alla Ticenese, Pastries / walnut tart specifically prepared for the occasion by the ambassador’s chef in their state of the art kitchen.

6:30pm class (for those who purchase tickets early- only 40 spots available!)

7:00pm general welcome by ambassador

7:05 – 8:30pm – Tasting

Cocktail or business attire requested. This is not a seated event, but reception style. For security purpose, no walk ins are allowed and tickets must be bought in advance online or by phone. 10% off for members. Must be over 21 to attend this event. Metro: Woodley Park (Red Line). Off street parking around the embassy.
