Swim Skinny is an acoustic rock band, playing powered acoustic shows around the lakes of the midwest. The band consists of 1-3 people pending the gig - 2 acoustic guitarists and a latin percussionist at the bigger dance venues. We play rock covers from Skynyrd, ABB, ZZ Top, Clapton, Mellencamp, The Band, The Eagles, The Doobies Brothers, Steve Miller, Bob Marley, and many more - all of your favorites. We like to focus on the lake crowds because people go there to party. We tend to do alot of beer garden and beach party type events. We travel with a Tiki Bar Stage Set for the outdoor events even though only a portion of our music leans in the Tiki direction. We love the island rock, but we can not resist the temptations of so many other great rock tunes. We play a very casual, loose show with lots of crowd participation and just a basic set list that always changes as the night rolls on. Everyone at a Swim Skinny show is in the band!! Swim Skinny is a name given to me by friends and fans around the midwest. The phrase was penned in the lyrics of one of my songs, Hippy Farm, in reference to my "free" childhood in the early 70's - "we used to swim skinny in that hippy pond, on the Hippy Farm". When playing at local clubs people would say "hey, play that Swim Skinny song" and the name was born. We are in the middle of a summer tour now. We are having a blast packing the lakeside pubs and Inns. Catch us in Monticello, Syracuse, Michigan City, Bloomington, or Angola. We will hit the inland pubs when the weather changes. Until then Swim Skinny when you can!
