Sweet Deal: Create a Cookie, Support Moms and Babies at the Gingerbread Cookie Factory at Shewray Gardens! November 26, 2009

A popular holiday tradition, the Volunteers of Trillium Health Centre Gingerbread Cookie Factory, returns to Sherway Gardens (Hwy 427 & the QEW) from November 27 to December 20, 2009. Located in Sherway Square, the station will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cookies are $4 each or three for $10. Over the past 18 years, families have helped support their community health centre while using creative and innovative ideas to decorate and personalize their cookies. Many volunteers and staff look forward to giving their time to contribute in this festive fundraiser, which always guarantees fun and fulfillment.

“More than 3,000 cookies are decorated each year,” states Carol MacKay, coordinator of this year’s Volunteers of Trillium Health Centre Gingerbread Cookie Factory. “People of all ages come to decorate the gingerbread cookies every year at Sherway Gardens. It has become part of their annual holiday traditions."

The monies raised by this year’s Volunteers of Trillium Health Centre Gingerbread Cookie Factory will support the campaign to raise funds for much needed equipment in Trillium’s birthing suites, which will help to enhance care for moms and their new babies.
