Swayam Sidha - Atworks by Seema Kohli. Gallerie Nvya will exhibit a series of works by Seema Kohli, titled 'Swayam Siddha'. This multi-media exhibition encompasses an entire creative repertoire of the celebrated artist, comprising works in ceramics, graphics, murals, as well as canvas works. Giving such a stellar display of artistry( paintings, installations, sculptures and film) their ideal curatorial advantage, the services of noted curator Dr Alka Pande, have been utilised. The highlights of this repertoire showing is the fact that it provides an insightful profile into the art circuit of the self-taught creator. Each milestone along its path has been a way of pushing the frontiers of art to get at the essence of her ideology. A strong believer in the philosophy of self-realisation, Seema Kohlis art is a quest at expressing her innermost thoughts through the elements of our being. Besides its energy mantra, the works on display emit a visual extravaganza as Seema Kohli uses many layers of colours to express the mystery of the elements. Though the figures in them appear passive at first, the close-up view shows her attention to detail, striking tonal work, evoking a strong brilliance. Her use of reds and blues in the works give it their signature content, while the golds denote an ambient purity. The symbolic appearance of the lotus stem expresses the umbilical link and creation. Stretched across both small and large formats, the works bear a decorative aside in their gold and silver leaf washes and their intricate border patternings. Encircling these diverse works into a cohesion, is their serial point of reference. They express ananda or bliss, born of enlightenment. Defining the form and spirit of creation are her works from the Hiranyagarbha series, based on the mantra of the Yajur Veda. All these works, are further entwined into a holistic display by her prolific burst of creative excellence, making Seema Kohli a richly endowed artist whose golden touch manifests itself in all aspects of Fine Art, ranging from paintings, to drawings, to sculptures and on to murals.
