VC Breakfast Club with Evan Liang, Senior Associate, Shasta Ventures, Focus: Consumer Internet and Software

Shasta Ventures, www.shastaventures.com

We formed Shasta Ventures expressly to help entrepreneurs build great companies, our primary objective is to provide outstanding service to the companies in our portfolio. It means we have the time to work with early-stage companies because we serve on a limited number of boards. And it means we care about the companies we invest in—not only the businesses, but the people as well.

Each of the partners at Shasta Ventures brings a wealth of investing and operating experience. Collectively, we have created more than a billion dollars in value for investors. We’ve already helped build dozens of successful companies. We’re looking to build more.

We combine our skills and expertise across marketing and technology to work as a team to the benefit of our entrepreneurs. We collaborate on behalf of every portfolio company, sharing ideas, recommending resources and making introductions. We’ve learned a lot from the years we’ve spent in investing and operating roles. We’re here to share those lessons with the entrepreneurs we serve.

Through our team approach, we apply basic marketing principles to the business of technology, whether it’s being used by a consumer, an IT manager or an engineer. That’s unusual in this industry, but we’ve found it to be a winning formula.
