Bampton Group
Bampton Group is a venture capital and advisory firm with offices in San Francisco, New York and the UK that for more than ten years has successfully invested in and worked with a wide range of technology companies seeking to expand transatlantically. Every company in which Bampton has invested has gone on either to IPO or trade sale.

Bampton is currently working with investors in its new $100 million fund focused on transatlantic expansion and is actively seeking established businesses ready to undertake this. Bampton has in the past invested in businesses in enterprise software, telecoms equipment, media, medical devices and software focused around drug discovery. Typical investments are up to $10 million over a three year period and Bampton works very closely with the board and management of its portfolio companies throughout this period, becoming very actively involved in the establishment or development of the new international operations. Because of its focus on helping businesses with commercially proven products and services to expand between the US and Europe, Bampton does not invest in pre-revenue companies and prefers to work with businesses considering Series B or C venture capital rounds.

Jeremy Woan
Jeremy Woan is Bampton’s CEO and is primarily based in San Francisco, CA but also travels frequently to Europe. His investment focus is enterprise software and healthcare products and services although he has also invested in and managed media businesses.

Previously, he successfully built two technology companies through to IPO as CEO, in each case pursuing a business model where the companies started in the UK but built the majority of their business and activities in the USA.

Prior to this he worked for 8 years for several leading international investment banking firms where he specialized in the transatlantic growth and financing of small and medium technology companies.

Woan is a frequent panelist and speaker at US and European conferences on early stage technology investing and especially on the issues of raising finance and growing transatlantically In the current academic year he is also Entrepreneur in Residence at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. He holds graduate degrees from Cambridge University in law and public international law.
