While companies that produce clean energy have garnered mega-sized deals, not all investors are enamored with the supply-side of the energy equation.

A growing number of investments focus on companies that help businesses, utilities and consumers reduce demand - particularly software companies that improve energy efficiency, manage the electrical grid, allow trading of carbon credits, or capture waste energy. Rodrigo Prudencio, Partner, Nth POWER (www.nthpower.com)
Rodrigo Prudencio is a Partner with Nth Power and is involved in all aspects of the firm's operations including investments, investor relations, and portfolio management. Rodrigo sits on the board of Synapsense and Topanga Technologies and is an observer of the boards of Terrapass and Hara. Earlier in his career, Rodrigo worked for the Department of State where he focused on a variety of global environmental negotiations, including preparations for the Kyoto round of the Climate Change Convention. Rodrigo was also Director of the international trade program at the National Wildlife Federation where he led NWF’s environmental advocacy to reform the rules of international trade. Rodrigo received his MBA from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley where he served as president of his class and concentrated on energy markets including outside research at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. His bachelor’s degree in international relations was earned from Middlebury College in Vermont.

Jai Das, Partner, SAP Ventures (/www.sap.com/about/company/sapventures/index.epx)
Jai Das focuses on investments in Cloud computing, Open Source, Internet/Digital Media and SaaS in the US and leads SAP Ventures' investments in India. He spent seven years designing and building software applications as a lead architect and as a product manager at Oracle and at several start-ups. He was also an entrepreneur before deciding to focus on investing in high-growth technology start-ups. Prior to SAP Ventures, Das worked at two corporate ventures including Intel Capital and Agilent Ventures (formerly part of Hewlett-Packard). He was also a Principal at MVC Capital, a Draper Fisher Jurvetson affiliated late-stage venture fund. Some of the investments he has led and managed include Coghead (SAP), Infinera (INFN), MySQL (Oracle), Photobit (Micron), Primavera (Oracle), Sygate (Symantec) and Touchdown (Verigy). He received his MBA from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business where he was awarded the George Hay Brown Prize for academic excellence. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University. Das is currently a board observer for Connectiva Systems, DeviceVM, GroundWork, Ignite Technologies, JasperSoft, MuleSoft, Newgen Software, Sonoa Systems, and Tealeaf.

Christina Ellwood, President/CEO, Moreland Associates (www.morelandassoc.com)
A seasoned senior executive, Christina has over 20 years experience as a marketer. She is the President and CEO of Moreland Associates, which she founded in 2001. Moreland provides interim executive, market research, and marketing project services for clean tech and high tech start-ups, services providers, and enterprises. Moreland’s clients include companies in the clean tech, software, telecom, mobile and security sectors. Prior to Moreland, she founded and served as President and CEO of OfficePlease Inc., an intranet software company and ASP and currently serves as the Chairman for the OfficePlease Foundation. Prior to OfficePlease, she was the VP of Marketing for Sentient Networks a telecom switch manufacturer, until their acquisition by Cisco Systems; Director of carrier development and marketing at Premisys, a telecom Integrated Access Device (IAD) manufacturer; and business development and marketing with N.E.T. T1-mux company and Kevex Instruments, a provider of EDX and XRF spectrometers and detectors. She actively supports: the Clean Tech Open as the program chair for the 2010 Academy and 2009 Accelerator; VC TaskForce Clean Tech series and Venture Backed Executives Club; SVASE East Bay Series; Astia’s clean tech committee, mentor and workshop presenter. Christina is known for her strong, clear leadership and drive.
