Yoshi's Late Night Live Tuesdays is a weekly event spotlighting the Bay Area's hottest bands in a sexy setting full of inspiring energy. Come relax and enjoy some tasty sushi rolls that are served late or strap on your dancing shoes and get to work!

On Tuesday October 11th, Loveseat Trio and GLP will be joined by DJ Fillmore Wax spinnin tha fonkiest 45's on Fillmore. We will also hold a raffle for a beautiful acoustic guitar graciously provided by D.C. Piano in Berkeley, CA.

George Lacson Project 9:15-10:15p

George Lacson is a San Francisco based musician, born in St. Louis, Missouri, one of the origins of American music. His sound melds that soulful, bay area funk with the rhythm-n-blues sound of his birthplace, but also adds modern instrumentation including synth, MIDI, and electronic voicings. His big break came in 2006 when he became the bass player for John Lee Hooker Jr. Since then, he has been recording and touring internationally, sharing the stage with the likes of Lenny Kravitz, B.B. King, Z. Z. Top and receiving a Grammy nomination in 2008 for his work with Hooker. His first solo effort brings that experience to your ears with feel-good, high-energy music, guaranteed to keep you on your feet and giving you a performance to remember.

Loveseat Trio 10:30-11:30p

Taking cues from other prominent keyboard trios like Medeski, Martin & Wood, The Bad Plus and Soulive, Loveseat exploits its classic trio format allowing each member of the band an equal voice. Combining tight, funky arrangements with group improvisation, the trio’s music is highly danceable and true to the musicians’ roots in jazz, funk and rock. The group’s growing fan base enjoys their originals as well as their deep repertoire of covers ranging from The Beatles to the Grateful Dead to Soundgarden. These covers take original forms in Loveseat’s hands and reflect the group’s distinctive voice while paying homage to their influences.
