Surface Area Dance Theatre present Nullius October 3, 2008

Surface Area Dance Theatre in collaboration with visual artist Benjamin Freeth proudly presents their newfound creation Nullius. Entwining intensely poetic dance, film and music into a cascading symbiosis of visual imagery and sound.

Inspired by Ovid’s mythological transformations, adventurous nymph like creatures reflect the desires of humans by enchanting weak souls and binding them to distant fairytale lands. Set in an ethereal region, a place of intrigue, enchantment, danger and abandonment, the dance transcends through layers of physical separation, inviting movement sequence that transpire to a succession of visceral film scenes.

Nullius features an international cast; the company have worked specifically with North East musicians Burroughs & Legget to compose an original sound score.
