On Saturday March 29, 2008, from 1 pm until 6 pm Art with Joe will observe Support Women Artists Now Day (SWAN Day) and offers several free creativity workshops for women and an open mike poetry/spoken word event celebrating women with the art of words. This event is a part of the Making Herstory 3: Connected Sisterhood Art Exhibition, sponsored by Authentic Art Consulting and ThickArt Collaborative.

This event will be held at Peace and A Cup of Joe, 713 West Pratt Street, Baltimore, Maryland.

SWAN Day Workshop Schedule

Note: Workshops are free, however, due to limited space, you must register to attend the workshops. Spoken Word event is open to the public and no registration needed.

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Decorating Women's Personal Spaces, facilitated by Sherry B. Ways of Design Scheme Interiors, LLC

As part of Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) Day, DSI will lecture on personal retreats for women. What makes a woman's space special? Every woman needs a bit of personal space for her own peace of mind. Discover how others have created their personal space in their homes and how you too can create a space that you can call your very own.

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Cultural Scrapbook Techniques, facilitated by Lisa Stanford, author of Ethnic Scrapbooking.

Join Lisa Stanford as she offeres specific ways to include examples of culture and ethnicity on a scrapbook page. Memory keepers of all skill levels will be able to add new cultural perspective to their projects with ideas presented by Lisa

3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Creating Your Personal Vision, facilitated by Jennifer Judelsohn of Neshama Soulworks Studio and Sharon Burton of Authentic Art Consulting

Jennifer and Sharon will show you how to use visualization by creating a Vision Board, also known as a DreamBoard. A Vision Board is a collage of pictures of the goals and dreams you want to attract in your life. Learn how this powerful tool can create the life you dream of and have fun making one of your own!

5:00 p.m. Open Mike/Spoken Word (No Registration Required: Open to the Public)
